IPNI China Programme Annual Meeting in Hainan

Together with Annual Meeting of IPNI Balanced Fertilization Program of China, the Annual Meeting of Southwest China was held in Haikou from February 13 to 16, 2012. During the meeting, IPNI collaborators in the region reported their project progress in research, demonstrations, educational activities and publication in 2011 and discussed the work plan in 2012. Thirty six people participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, IPNI Chengdu Office together with Hainan Soil and Fertilizer Institute, and SinoChem Hainan Branch, arranged two field sites – balanced fertilizer demonstration in banana and research and demonstration in chili pepper for the participants. The participants came from all the IPNI collaborative institutions in China and IPNI member companies. The leaders from IPNI member companies include Mr. Matt Albrecht, Vice President from Canpotex; Mr. Mingwei Feng, Vice President from SinoChem; Ms. Corrine Ricard, VP, International Sales and Distribution, Ms. Jenny Wang, China Country Manager, Mr. Ivan Laui, China Commercial Director, and Mr. Rudy Zhou, China Sales Director from Mosaic; and Mr. Lei Zhou (and his team), General Manager from SinoChem Hainan Branch. Besides, Mr. Tommie Sutanu, Managing Director and Miss Romina Leung, General Manager from Odyssey International (Trading) Group Ltd also attended the activities. Leaders from Hainan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and from Department of Agriculture were present. More than 40 local farmers witnessed the effects of balanced fertilization on crops. The activity was broadcast on Hainan TV and reported on Hainan Daily.
