China’s grain production increased in 2012
The data from National Statistical Bureau of China showed that in 2012, grain crop production of China was 589.57 million Mt and it increased 3.2% over that in 2011. In all the increase of grain crops, rice increased 1.6%, wheat increased 2.7% and maize increased 8%.
The production of some other crops also increased in 2012 compare with 2011. These crops include cotton (+3.8%), oil crops (+5.1%), sugar crops (+7.8%), tobacco (+11.5%) and tea (+8.0%). All of the yield increases brought with the increase of commercial fertilizers in the country.
